In The Mouth: les soirées gastronomiques improbables

cover-foodnights

Imagine a world where everything you ate tasted like something completely different, where the plumpest and most luscious piece of butter poached lobster tasted like the face twisting juice of a ripe lemon or where the sweat inducing fiery heat of a habanero pepper tasted like absolutely nothing at all… Welcome to the chaotic culinary world of Chef Nuno…

In The Mouth is part pop-up restaurant, part edible art exhibit where you and your senses will be treated to a three-course menu inspired by you the diners. Two weeks prior to the dinner, diners will be asked a series of questions to find out what their tastes in food are which will ultimately determine the menu.

Trying to evoke memories and moments through food, these menus will be conceptualized by Chef Nuno, a fictional character who suffers from dysgeusia (a mixed-up sense of taste) while creating new memories for others. During these gastronomic evenings, fiction and reality will intertwine to produce one unforgettable meal and experience.

Nicolas Fonseca, aka Mister Yellow created IN THE MOUTH to address the phenomenon of the commodification of food. He wanted to bring us back to a more intimate level with the food that we eat by revisiting memories, relationships, emotions and the impact food has had on our lives whether we realize it or not. Fonseca, is a creative director and designer of interactive experiences and most currently the director of content on the multi-platform project award-winning “Children of La Bolduc.”
