Boris et Béatrice ont vu une soirée d’ouverture ! | Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois
For the 34th Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois, an exciting opening night has been planned at the Cinémathèque québécoise. A solid choice for girls who like to shake it on the dance floor and shmooze with film buffs!
A major festival devoted to Québec cinema, the Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois has been a must on the Québec and Montréal cultural landscape for the past 33 years. Featuring unique discoveries and meet-ups between the public and creators, you’ll want to mark the RVCQ—especially its party nights—in your agenda.

Nude Area | The 8th edition of Massimadi Festival
Massimadi, the Afro-Caribbean LGBT film and art festival, was founded to fight against hate and discrimination. Featured as part of Black History Month, the fest offers a unique program that aims to provide a haven of freedom and, above all, a movement of liberation.
Must-see: the screening of lesbian film Nude Area, co-presented by Gris-Montréal and Lez Spread The Word. Directed by Urszula Antoniak, the film tells the story of a summer fling between 16-year-old Naomi, who lives in a tony neighbourhood of Amsterdam, and the Fama, a young 16-year-old Arabic woman who lives in the city’s working-class district.

Pool/table football evening at the Fitzroy
Given the success of the monthly “Où sont les femmes?” evenings, Lez Spread The Word decided to develop a second concept and a totally different kind of meeting, this time at the Fitzroy. With its cool, beer garden-feel, the Fitz has garnered a reputation as a seriously happening hangout. Once a month, as of 7 p.m., food, drinks, pool and table football are yours to enjoy as DJ TIZI spins the tables. Added bonus: pool is only $5/hour for a table of women all throughout the evening.
Invite your friends to come have a drink, share some great food or shoot a game of pool. Or just hang out and soak up the vibe— entry is free anyway! The very accessible Fitzroy is located just in front of the entrance to the Mont-Royal métro.
