Five Fantastic Festive Lunches to Eat Right Now in Vancouver
If you can’t wait to get a taste of the holidays, you’re in luck. Plenty of restaurants across Vancouver are laying on delicious festive spreads, and you don’t have to cook or wash up! Here are five of our favourites.
Lunch with all the trimmings at Oru
The Fairmont Pacific Rim’s Oru restaurant is offering a prix-fixe lunch with all the trimmings as a two course option for $39 or three courses for $47. Main choices include chef-carved turkey, ponderosa mushroom risotto, braised lamb or roasted rock fish. Dessert includes a feathery-light eggnog pot de creme. Yum. Forage is opening for lunch offering a special holiday four-course menu for just $35, however the minimum reservation is four people. On the set menu, grilled kale salad with Golden Ears brie, a charcuterie board and either a roasted Fraser Valley turkey with all the trimmings or a hay-smoked pork rack roast. Reservations (and three friends) required.
Organic Turkey at Coast
Glowbal’s Coast restaurant has a three course menu for $43 per person, throughout December, which offers a choice of ling cod fish and chips, grilled sockeye salmon or a traditional organic turkey dinner for the main course. Reservations recommended.
Seasonal Sandwich Delight at Hubbub
Grab christmas lunch to go at Hubbub who have a feature seasonal sandwich special this year; the turkey is marinated in local craft beer and homemade seasoning, then slowly braised. The sandwich is topped with savoury onion sage stuffing, and a sweet-tart cranberry sauce and peppery arugula. No reservations necessary!
Local Lunch at Tableau
Tableau’s holiday menu has a rather yummy sounding eggnog cheesecake with a salt caramel sauce on its three course set lunch menu. Main course choices for the $45 menu include icelandic cod risotto, local beef striploin or a cauliflower cream tagliatelle. Definitely call ahead to reserve here.
