Guide to Pick-your-own Pumpkin Patches in Vancouver
There’s something unsatisfying about picking a pumpkin from those huge cardboard boxes in front of your local grocery store. The good ones are always gone, they’re always a little “warty” and some of them have strange brown, soft spots on them.
So if you’re looking for a fun, afternoon experience (and an excuse to put on your best rain-boots), head to one of these pick your own pumpkin patches in Vancouver and the surrounding areas:
Vancouver Area
Southlands Farm
Hours: Open every day from 10am to 5pm.
Price: All pumpkins are $5 and entry is by donation.
Highlights: You can offer to pitch in with daily farm work. There is a local farm market from 11-12 on Saturday. A focus on agriculture and education rather than entertainment.

Richmond Country Farms
Hours: M-F 9am – 1:30pm Weekends: 10am – 4:30pm
Price: Entry is $9 M-F and $12 on weekends. Admission includes entertainment, a wagon ride, a pumpkin (child size) with a carrying bag, a visit to the animal farm, and an apple.
Highlights: “The” place for pumpkins. (According to their website). Lots of entertainment, good for kids. Hay rides and costume characters.

Westham Island Herb Farm

Highlights: Known for their corn maze, but that’s closed now. Very diverse array of pumpkins including some VERY large ones.
