May Days: A #WhistlerStoke Photo Round-Up

TAG: Summer Fun

Posted by: Feet Banks

May in Whistler is an incredible time of year simply because the ski hill is still open but it’s also really starting to feel like summer down in the Village and Valley. To give a look at what has been happening the last couple weeks The Insider has combed through piles of incredible Instagram images from the #whistlerstoke and #onlyinwhistler archives and we’re reposting a few of our favourites here in a sort of photo round-up of what’s been happening lately. Hopefully you are entertained and inspired. Enjoy.
(Speaking of inspiration: we basically copied this concept from excellent Canadian author and blogger LaineyGossip. Gotta give credit where credit is due! You rule Lainey!)

marleyorange is a Whistler local who literally surfed onto our radar a few years ago during the #WhistlerUnfiltered days. It’s good to see she is still out there living the good life. (Studies show handstanding with trees is better than hugging them). Follow marleyorange.

We had to omit a few of gorgeousgb87’s hashtags because this is a family operation and some of his enthusiasm was for more mature audiences. Still though, 100 ski days in a single season is always worth getting stoked about (and always worth throwing up the “w”). Congrats man. Follow gorgeousgb87.

The Scandinave Spa is a Whistler wellness hotspot known for seclusion and silence. Which, in this day and age, is something we could all use more of. Even if you’re not in Whistler, it’s always good idea to take the time to unplug and just chill in a hammock for as long as you can get away with it. Follow scandinavewhis.

Bella and Roberto, aka The Expeditioners, spend most of their days traveling the world having the kinds of adventures most of us only dream of. This past winter, however, they holed up in Whistler for a few months of trying to see what it feels like to stay in one place. They loved it but will be back on the road soon enough. Although memories like this lakeside moment will surely lure them back here soon. You should definitely follow expeditionersbella.

And up in the mountains, the alpine lakes look a little bit different (but equally stunning). Congrats to hannahkeiver for ticking a summit of her list of summer goals. Follow hannahkeiver.

Most golfers avoid the trees. Wiffle golfers learn to love them. No dress code on the wiffle golf course either. Here’s to more #playinginthewoods this summer. Follow katerosew

Whistler’s GOFest took place over the May long weekend and while there were dozens of incredible events to choose from we feel this image kind of sums up that Whistler spirit of getting outside and loving it. Here’s to a good May-Long bush party at the river.

Meanwhile, in the river, a Whiterwater rodeo kayak event on the Cheakamus.

Brian Finestone is manager of the Whistler Mountain Bike Park but he’s also an ace photographer and father of one of Whistler’s up-and-coming supergroms. This weekend he caught some of the GO Fest action at the River Jumps. If you like pictures of airtime (and fish) it will be worth your time to follow finestonephoto.

And that’s it for May. Watch for more Instagram Round-Ups as the summer unfolds. Until then you can find everything you need to know (and more) about summer in Whistler at Whistler.com
