Montréal Digital Spring Offers Fun for the Whole Family
It’s not always easy to plan outings that will appeal to kids and grown-ups alike. That’s where Montréal Digital Spring comes in, with tons of inspiration for cool things to do. Montréal is North America’s capital of digital arts, offering an eclectic range of original activities related to digital creativity, visual effects and video games that the whole family will love. Even better, these suggestions are free!
The hugely popular musical swings are back for a fifth season. Each swing reproduces the sound of an instrument (piano, guitar, harp or vibraphone) and the notes change depending on how high you go. When you swing with friends and family, the notes come together to create your own unique melody! The swings are lit up at night, creating the effect of luminous ballet. This fun and interactive work was created by Daily tous les jours.
Until May 31 on the Promenade des artistes, and then from August 6 to October 18.
MAËSTRO
Become the conductor of the fountains at the Place des festivals with this new interactive work. Using a conductor’s wand equipped with sensors, participants can try their hand at controlling the water jets of the fountain, which are activated by their movements and rhythms of the music. Designed by Atomic3.

9 X [MTL] VIDEO PROJECTIONSWhen night falls, nine façades of buildings in the Quartier des spectacles are transformed into giant screens. 9X [MTL] are funny, animated photomontages that celebrate Montréal’s identity, with nods to everything from the Montréal Canadiens to Mount Royal and Expo 67. Created by Gabriel Poirier-Galarneau and Vincent Bilodeau.

CHOREOGRAPHIES FOR HUMANS AND STARS
Come play with the stars with this new interactive outdoor digital work. On your own or as part of a group, you can act out cosmic scenes and phenomena, which are then projected onto the cones of the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium. It’s an entertaining and poetic way to rediscover astronomy! Created by Daily tous les jours.

SECRETS AND ILLUSIONS: THE MAGIC OF SPECIAL EFFECTS
