Re-Plated: An Upcycled Dining Experience, Nov 18
A Food Connections and Modern Lifehackers collaboration, “Re-plated” is a unique dining experience using rescued food that would’ve otherwise been wasted. Currently, Vancouver residents throw out over 100,000 tonnes of edible food a year. These include aesthetically imperfect or blemished produce, uncommonly used parts of produce, and products that are at their “best before” dates (but that are still edible).
By staying educated about how to use more of the groceries you purchase, you can save up to $700 in your annual grocery bill.
Join us for an elegant evening of storytelling and “upcycled” dining, as we re-plate and re-purpose what you normally consider as trash. Discover new ways to use parts of ingredients you never thought could be used, uncover new recipe ideas, and learn useful tips on how to store your groceries to keep them lasting longer, which will save you money in the long run.
The Storytelling Experience:
As a part of the storytelling experience, the menu and the location will be a mystery. The ingredients in the four-course mystery meal will be unveiled as we tell the story behind each plate while you’re enjoying the dish along with a complimentary glass of wine. The location will be announced the night before the event on the event page. As we build up to the announcement of where the event is being held, we’ll be sharing snippets as teasers for the venue through social media as a way to tell a story, and to also give clues about the location.
