Stanley Cup round 2: Tourisme Montréal faces off with Visit Tampa Bay

The sun is shining, the flowers are blooming and you can feel the electricity in the air as the Montréal Canadiens face off tonight against the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 1 of the second round of the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs.

After winning our wager with Ottawa Tourism (and receiving some gorgeous Ottawa tulips from our friends in the nation’s capital), Tourisme Montréal got in touch with Visit Tampa Bay to challenge them to a similar friendly bet between our cities’ tourism boards. So the gauntlet is down and the Habs versus Bolts wager is officially underway!

Here’s the deal:

Whichever city loses this second round has to send a “congratulations” gift to the winner. If Tampa wins, they get gourmet treats from Montréal. If Montréal wins, Visit Tampa Bay sends a Tampa-centric gift basket to the Tourisme Montréal team.
