Mount Seymour is the place to be on Monday Nights in January and March when they host their Shred for the Cause “Locals Edition” on Mondays starting January 22, 2018.
For just $15, women of all ages can ski or ride in support a local, community-based charity called The Bloom Group. Of course, men are also welcome to enjoy the evening as well, but a lift ticket will cost $33.
The event will be held from 5:30pm – 10:00pm every Monday from January 22 – March 26, 2018 and supports a great cause.
Last season, the event raised $26,000 towards The Bloom Group, a community-based charity that has been providing some of the most progressive social services in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside for over 50 years, including low-barrier shelters for women and children.
It’s a worthy cause and here’s hoping 2018 will provide even more donations! Tickets will be sold out of the ticket booths at Guest Services on Mt Seymour, so all you have to do is show up and pay your donation to enjoy some excellent evening shredding. (Cash is best!)
If you don’t have to hurry home to bed, there will also be an Apres Ski event starting at 9pm with trivia and games for prizes and giveaways from event sponsors.
Located about 30 minutes from downtown in North Vancouver, Mount Seymour boasts 40 trails with a vertical drop of 330 metres, and also has terrain parks, snowshoe trails, snow tubing and tobogganing. But it’s just one of several skiing options in and around the city.
There is a shuttle bus available from East Vancouver (Rupert Station) as well as from Parkgate Community Centre (in Deep Cove). The shuttle bus runs regularly and costs $10 – $15. Check here for the schedule.
