Nothing connects people quite like art can, and Draw by Night does just that. This free, public event located in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, brings together artists and people who just love to doodle. It’s a great way to spend an evening, eating snacks and admiring other people’s artistic talents.
Draw by Night is a collaborative drawing party held bi-monthly, taking over the Vancouver Film School Cafe (390 West Hastings Street). During the event, every table is covered with large rolls of paper, and participants are given free reign to draw whatever they feel like.
Typically, there is a theme to each event. The upcoming October 30th Draw by Night combines video games and Halloween with the theme “Game Over“. On top of the snacks, camaraderie, and drawing, local video game creators will also be beta testing their games with participants. More information about the event can be found here.

The objective of Draw by Night is to surround yourself and engage with like-minded creative individuals from various disciplines and skill levels. The energy is always high and the result is always unexpected.
There is no age-limit for Draw by Night, so anyone who is interested in doodling on large pieces of paper is invited to join. Bring a pen or your favourite drawing medium, or just bring yourself and borrow tools from the friendly artists around you.
The next Draw by Night is being hosted at VFS Cafe on Wednesday, October 30th at 6pm until 8pm. RSVP to the event here.
