Arts Club Theatre’s Holiday Shows 2011: White Christmas & Patron Saint of Stanley Park

Arts Club Theatre’s Patron Saint of Stanley Park

Whether you’re looking for a special holiday night out to share with friends and family or looking for a fabulous gift (theatre tickets make ideal stocking stuffers), Vancouver’s acclaimed Arts Club Theatre has the perfect shows to celebrate the season.

For musical lovers, there’s the annual production of White Christmas: The Muscial, one of Remy’s Top 5 Holiday Music Events in Vancouver. White Christmas has become a beloved Arts Club winter tradition, a family-friendly production packed with familiar musical hits—including “White Christmas,” “Blue Skies,” and “Sisters”—plus fabulous tap dancing and a heart-warming tale of friendship and romance. (It’s based on the famous Bing Crosby/Danny Kaye film of the same name.)

The Arts Club Theatre’s second major holiday offering is the back-by-popular-demand play, The Patron Saint of Stanley Park. A magical holiday fable written by Vancouver actor  Hiro Kanagawa (whose own credits include roles on the X-Files, Highlander and Smallville), Patron Saint is about a scruffy vagabond who may be more than he appears to be. Set on Christmas Eve in Vancouver’s own Stanley Park, The Patron Saint of Stanley Park debuted in 2010 to critical and popular acclaim. Remy did an in-depth review of the 2010 version of the play; check it out here.

White Christmas: The Musical runs at the Arts Club Theatre’s Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage through December 28, 2011.  Buy tickets soon; as of this writing, eight shows have already sold out! The Patron Saint of Stanley Park runs at the Arts Club Theatre’s Revue Stage through December 24, 2011.

Have you seen the Arts Club Theatre’s White Christmas or Patron Saint of Stanley Park? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
