Black Friday deals in Montreal

Sharpen your wits and ready your elbows… it’s Black Friday! It’s time for some serious, competitive deal hunting and Holiday shopping. But it’s also chilly November in Montreal, so how about we keep things indoors?

(Premium Outlet Centre) Of course there are deals to be had in Montreal year-round, especially places like the Premium Outlet Centre in Mirabel, where you’ll find a Hudson Bay, Lacoste and a Michael Kors among the 84 stores. They’re sure to light up for Black Friday, but for the weather-shy among us, how about we keep it indoors? It’s time to explore the 32 kilometres of Montreal’s Underground City.

(Complexe Desjardins) Starting at the eastern extreme of the Underground City, Complexe Desjardin is a mall facing Place des Arts, where there are clothing shops, accessories emporiums and a great food court to start the day. Find killah deals at Smart Set, where there’s already 30% off dresses and 15% off pants. Get your holiday party looks at Le Château for less (in the past they’ve chopped 30% off most items for Black Friday) or grab some of the latest styles at Reitmans. They always slice and dice their prices for Black Friday. OK! Time to head westward.

(Promenades de la Cathédrale) Right at McGill metro station, Promenades de la Cathédrale holds a lot of affordable stores and houseware shops. The flagship store is Linen Chest, the perfect spot to find gifts, silky-soft bedding and pretty home décor. They’ve been known to slash prices by a whopping 50% on selected items on past Black Fridays. It’s hard to imagine street wear chain Urban Planet getting any kinder to our wallets, but it is: deals will reach up to 50% off! Pick out the perfect ugly Xmas sweater while you’re there. The same half-off deal is to be had on selected items over at Tristan, where there’s some beautiful shiny party wear right now. Find yourself a pair of sparkly pumps to go with it at Payless ShoeSource. Or how about a pair of boots for 50% off?

(Eaton Centre) Montreal’s Eaton Centre is at the epicentre of downtown. It a bright, sunny place to shop, and it boasts all the big chains, starting with Gap, which will be offering deals ranging from 20% to 50% off. At Aldo, get stylish shoes and fun accessories for anywhere between 20% and 40% off – same goes for sister store Little Burgundy. Head to Rudsak for some luscious leather goods (perfect for gifts!), with impressive sales running up to 40% off, and speaking of luscious: Lush bath bombs are a classic stocking stuffer, so get yours – and more – on sales day.

(Place Montréal Trust) Just next door, through the tunnel, Place Montréal Trust has a few great chains with great deals, including Zara, which is the perfect spot for gifts or holiday looks for less, on Black Friday: up to 50% less. Plan your winter beach break at Bikini Village where you’ll find items for half price, or get discounted gifts for the creative minds on your list at arts and crafts supply store Deserres or bookstore Indigo. Of course you’ll also find Winners in this mall, where it’s always deal time – even more so during Black Friday madness, when the deals will reach up to 75% off on some items. Ka-shing!

(Cours Mont-Royal) A couple of tunnels westward, at Peel metro, you’ll find this beautiful posh mall where the chains are more up-market. Luxury menswear Harry Rosen is the ideal place to find everything from the perfect suit to a handsome tie to give your dad, and this time for up to 40% off. For both men and women, Club Monaco holds slick, fashionable styles for up to 50% off during Black Friday. Other great stops include DKNY, where there’ll be deals of at least 25%, and Desigual, where the deals will reach 30%.

(Ogilvy) Our last stop is a step into sheer luxury, at Ogilvy – and just in time to see the much-awaited holiday window display be revealed. Ogilvy is a wonderful place for local fashion as well as international icons, from Louis Vuitton to Burberry  to Hugo Boss. Those shops may or may not have sales – you’ll have to visit to see! But make sure to check out local fashion line Harricana, where the recycled fur hats and more are on sale of up to 50%, and UNTTLD, whose elegant made-in-Montreal styles are in the pop-up shop of Cabinet Éphémère and will include special Black Friday deals not to be missed.
