Head to some of the best patios in Vancouver

We’re heading into the best patio season in Vancouver, when the sun is shining but not yet scalding hot, and a light sweater keeps out the breeze. Vancouver has some amazing patios that feature waterfront views and great people watching opportunities.

Your best bet for a beer outside with a beautiful view include:

  • Mahony Sons – Stamps Landing located between Olympic Village and Granville Island, this restaurant features amazing views of the harbour and the skyline of downtown Vancouver.
  • Tap Barrell at the Convention Centre located right in the heart of downtown, this restaurant features local craft beer with an absolutely stunning view of the North Shore mountains.
  • Flying Beaver Bar Grill located in Richmond with a perfect view of the arriving and departing Harbour Air seaplanes.

Do a taste test at CRAFT Beer Market

With 140 taps pouring local, classic and obscure ales, CRAFT offers Canada’s largest selection of draft beer. You can check out the huge list of fresh ales on tap on their website, or just head to the location in Olympic Village to take in the amazing drink menu for yourself.

Get a beer flight and ask the waiter/waitress to surprise you with something delicious. Keep an open mind and you will not be disappointed.

Pair a pint with some fabulous food

What’s a pint without some delicious pub food to wash it down? If you’re all about pairing a brew with some delicious food, there are plenty of brew pubs in Vancouver that will satisfy all of your cravings:

In Gastown, visit Steamworks Brewing Company and sip a Jasmine IPA while enjoying the stunning view across to the North Shore Mountains. In Railtown (the area just east of Gastown), drop by The Belgard Kitchen where they offer beers from on-site Postmark Brewery, along with upwards of 30 wines on tap. Take advantage of Yaletown Brewing Company’s large urban patio while you slurp on a cold one, or head to Dockside Restaurant on Granville Island and take in the waterside happenings as you sample their Cartwright Pale Ale. If you happen to be in the Main Street area crawling the tasting rooms, pay Steel Toad Brewpub a visit for a Saison Sauvignon, or head a few blocks east to Big Rock Urban Brewery for a Rhubarb Wit or a Rauschbier.
