Vancouver’s love of stylish fundraising, excellent cocktails and fine dining comes together next week with the third annual Monogram Dinner by Design event at IDSWest. Taking place over two nights, this swanky designer bash raises funds for CANFAR and Emily Carr University of Art and Design. Fourteen top-tier West coast designers will let their imaginations run wild to create an extraordinary dining experience, and former Whitecaps captain, Jay Demerit is part of the team of celebs and VIPs creating outstanding pop-up cocktail bars.

On Sunday September 20th, Cocktail Art!, Vancouver’s largest designer cocktail party will take place for 750 guests with a backdrop of dazzling tablescapes, as an all-star bar team, led by Absolut Brand Ambassador, Jacob Sweetapple, serves up a series of signature cocktails, each one conceived to push the limits of deliciousness in drink form. Tickets, which are available here, are $50 for the event which runs from 8-m till 1am which includes a welcome cocktail, and features some of the city’s most celebrated bartenders from the Pacific Rim’s Grant Sceney and the Keefer Bar’s Gez McAlpine to the Donnelly Group’s Trevor Kallies.

The fourteen tablescape designers have announced their themes, which range from a decadent green and white Byzantine Palace in a Barcelona Style by Medina Design and a monochrome design with quotes and splashes of neon from Filosophi, to Design Lab’s giant bird’s nest inspiration, an ice and snow igloo from Robert Blaney Designs, and keeping on a natural theme, a giant treehouse from Live Edge Design. Interior design fans can pop by to view the creations in situ on Monday, September 21, between noon till 5pm, for a suggested donation of $20, 100% of which goes to CANFAR and Emily Carr University of Art and Design.

The main dinner event takes place on Monday September 21, there are still a few seats left for the exclusive $300 dinner party for 150 prepared by Chef Taryn Wa of Savoury Chef, with delights such as cured local sea scallops, rare ‘Sterling Silver Beef’ ribeye and chocolate and raspberry opera cake on the menu paired with wines and bubbles.

Over the past two years in Vancouver, $10,000 has been raised by the event for  the Dr. Peter Centre AIDS Foundation. This year, after going national with events in Calgary and Toronto, Monogram is hoping to raise more for its new beneficiaries, and they plan to partner with design schools in those cities to raise funds for students.
