It’s Stanley Park’s 125th Birthday, and We’re Pretty Sure This Sea Otter Knows It

To celebrate Stanley Park’s 125th anniversary, Elfin, a sea otter at the Vancouver Aquarium, was presented with a special cake. The ice cake was made with shrimp, crab, mussels and clam “icing.”

Elfin is one of three rehabilitated sea otters at the Vancouver Aquarium. The sea otters were rescued as orphans in Alaska and nursed back to health with the help of the Aquarium’s Marine Mammal Rescue Centre staff.

The Vancouver Aquarium has been located in Stanley Park since it first opened its doors in 1956.

Happy birthday Stanley Park — here’s to another 125 years and beyond!
