May the Force be With You for the 15+ Hour Star Wars Movie Marathon

This week, a new film trailer was released for the latest Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens, one of the most highly anticipated films of the year. The internet was buzzing and excitement has grown even higher for the December 17th release.

Tickets for the wide release of the new movie (the newest in the franchise since 2008) have just gone on sale and are already selling out like mad. But, even more exciting… Cineplex has also announced that they will be hosting special movie marathon screening parties across the country leading up to the premier of  The Force Awakens. 

On 4:45am on December 16, 2015 at the Scotiabank Theatre in Downtown Vancouver, diehard fans will be gathering together to watch the entire Star Wars series, in chronological order, leading up to the grand finale screening of The Force Awakens on Dec. 18.

This movie marathon is of epic proportions, with an estimated run time of 16 – 18 hours.

If you think you have what it takes, tickets for the marathon are $60 and selling fast. You may have a sore bum, but you’ll be granted bragging rights for a few days for participating in the event.

No exact details about the Star Wars event have been released yet, but it is likely that the marathon will be more like a party – giving you a reason to leave your couch and hang out with other likeminded Star Wars fans.

Similar events in the past have included a medal of honour for sitting through intense movie marathon sessions, so maybe you’ll have something like that to look forward to!
