Calling all cat lovers, have we got some exciting news for you! Just for Cats, the Internet Cat Video Festival will be coming to Vancouver this summer to screen all your favourite cat-themed YouTube videos in a film festival-esque environment!

For those of us who have lost hours to YouTube, watching cat video after cat video, the news of Just for Cats coming to Vancouver is beyond exciting! Now we’ll be able to get our grumpy cat, lil’ bub, and crazy cat compilation fix on the big screen–surrounded by other cat lovers–as the travelling show makes a pit stop in Vancouver.

No official dates have been set yet for the cat video festival in Vancouver, but the Just for Cats Facebook page recently posted that their internet cat video festival will likely be taking to the big screen at the PNE in August or early September.

The internet cat video festival first began as part of the Toronto International Film Festival, which will be screening the Just for Cats films on April 17th–hosted by none other than Laureen Harper (the Prime Minister’s wife) who is an animal lover and dedicated cat foster. After screening in Toronto, the internet cat film festival will be travelling across Canada with stops in Montreal, Saskatoon, and Ottawa.

This internationally acclaimed cat video festival is co-presented by the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies and part of the proceeds will be going towards raising money for cat welfare in Canada by supporting various animal shelters across the country. Doing good and watching cat videos at the same time? Sounds… Purr-fect!
