Montreal Erotic Art Festival and Fetish Weekend

montreal erotic arts fetish weekend

Coming off the heat of Montreal Gay Pride, the Erotic Arts Festival (August 18-September 2) along with Fetish Weekend (August 28-September 2) is by far the kinkiest, naughtiest, and sexiest week in Montreal…

Don’t think that this is a random sex fest though, it’s funded by the Quebec Arts Council and explores sensuality, eroticism, and aestheticism in a positive light through many artistic disciplines including: visual arts, dance, performance, fashion, music, video, burlesque and body painting. The Montreal Erotic Art Festival (or Festival d’Art Erotic de Montreal) explores the human desire to express themselves, and pushes for a more progressive society.

The festival officially opens on Sunday, August 18 at Foufounes Electriques with an exhibit and show featuring burlesque performances from Candyass Club, a demonstration of Shibari (Japanese Bondage Art,) and various other performances in a similar vein. One of the more intriguing festival events is called “Sketch in the Park” which will take place during the Tam-Tams on Mount-Royal), August 25. It’s a surprise activity so details are scarce, but they say to “show up with pencils and paper!”

Montreal Fetish Weekend is the last six days of the Montreal Erotic Arts Festival, and invites people to celebrate their fantasies and fetishes in the heart of the Gay Village for “evenings filled with kinky delights”. It includes such events like a “Latextacy Ball” at Drugstore, “Kabaret Kink” at La Mouche, and a few exclusive events for those with a VIP pass.
