The Vancouver Comedy Festival is getting a makeover. Now branded as the Northwest Comedy Fest, the annual event has a new name, a new website, and a new time of year – February (13-22, 2014). Thursday night at Vancouver FanClub (1050 Granville St.), organizers threw a party with comedian Maria Bamford to announce some of the talent coming to Vancouver for the festival.

Feature acts include:

Patton Oswalt. Oswalt appeared opposite Charlize Theron in the 2011 movie Young Adult and has released four albums, including his latest, Finest Hour. He is also an author, of the book Zombie Spaceship Wasteland.

Bobby Lee. An alumni of MadTV, Lee also has appeared on Chelsea Lately. He was plucked from semi-obscurity by Pauly Shore, according to his bio. He is known for his “unique brand of pain-inducing humour.”

Kyle Kinane. Kinane has appeared on Comedy Central and Late Night with Conan O’Brien.

Besides stand-up, the fest is also promising improv and (live) podcasts. For more info visit northwestcomedyfest.com.
