Opening Day Whistler Mountain

The day Whistler Mountain opens is always something. This year it was windy and stormy and pretty exciting (albeit the worst video-shooting conditions i have ever witnessed). Local high school kids camped out for 24 hours to ensure they got first ride up and others arrived as early as 5:30 in the morning for a chance at first tracks. November 2012 won’t go down as the deepest or most epic opening day ever but it did what it was supposed to do– give everyone a chance to get back on the boards and taste the exhilaration of sliding down a mountain. With a couple more big storms in the forecast, it looks like winter is finally here. Good thing too, because Whistler is ready to rip some pow.
