Whether you love to draw, doodle, or design — celebrate all things creative with Vancouver Draw Down on Saturday, June 14, 2014. The Vancouver Draw Down, now in its fifth year, is an annual celebration of drawing to reconnect everyone with the power and creative pleasure of making marks on paper.

People of all agre are invited to take part in the event, which hosts multiple hands-on free drawing workshops and events across the city in community centres, museums, art galleries, and on the street.

Add to a mural, do a pinprick drawing, doodle, sketch, improve your drawing techniques, create your own font, draw inside a 12-foot high paper tunnel, and much more.

There are over 50 workshops scheduled across Vancouver in neighbourhoods that include: Kitsilano, Mount Pleasant, Gastown, Granville Island and Downtown. The full list of neighborhoods and workshops is available on the Draw Down website.

Each workshop is completely free and open to anyone who is willing to join. Led by professional artists, these events are about process and pleasure — not about technical skill — so no matter what your age or skill level, there’s something for you at Vancouver Draw Down.

Workshops are designed in a “come and go” atmosphere and participants can feel free to float among the events throughout the day. It’s a great way to tour Vancouver’s artistic scene by popping from one workshop to the next to have an extremely creative Saturday.
