Shatner Speaks in Vancouver Tomorrow

william-shatner-1-Photo by ManfredBaumannFan of the man who made Captain James T. Kirk a household name? Alumni UBC’s Centennial close event UBC100: What’s Next? has iconic Canadian actor William Shatner slated for a May 28thappearance.

The Curious Life allows Mr. Shatner of Star Trek, T.J. Hooker, and Boston Legal fame to share stories about the “fascinating places his own curiosity has led him, and the possibilities that await us if we follow our own.”

Following his talk, there will be a moderated QA. Should be a fascinating evening, as Shatner is not limited to the stage and screen, but has written 30 books, plus riding and breeding champion horses.

More fodder for his stories we are sure, is his 2008 autobiography, Up Till Now, which was a New York Times best-seller, as is Leonard, his latest book recounting Shatner’s friendship with Leonard Nimoy. Shatner is also a philanthropist, once selling his own kidney stone to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity, and spearheading for many years the annual Hollywood Charity Horseshow, which raises money for programs to support handicapped kids.

Tickets are available online.
