Showcase King of the Rail: Round Two

With icicles starting to drip and a wet snow soaking the crowd gathered at the base of Whistler Blackcomb, the second of four 2012/13 Showcase King of the Rail comp’s went down in a flurry of 270’s, 450’s, and even a couple 630’s. Of course, it wouldn’t be a rail jam without a mandatory tame dog or two being thrown, a few solid nutcrackers to wow the crowd, and a few clever puns from the microphone controllers.

A really fun looking gap to flat-down box was the Hollywood feature and a mellow down rail is where the kids got tech. Great work from the Whistler Parks crew to pull together a fun little jam before rolling out tomorrow’s Park Riders Session slopestyle event.

My only complaint from the night, the field of competitors was seriously heavy on the dudes. There are some wicked female rippers in this town and I’d have loved to see a bunch more of them gettin’ tricky. Anyhow, congrats to the winners and don’t forget about the 10% rule.
