The Vancouver World Chef Exchange is a collaborative project held during Dine Out Vancouver Festival. It is designed to spread Vancouver’s culinary story across the globe, bring leading food cities closer together and, of course, dish up a never-before-seen dinner for culinary enthusiasts. The premise is simple: international and local chefs team up to craft a series of powerhouse feasts, fusing global flavours and regional ingredients for a once-in-a-lifetime dining experience.
Pairing the world’s most creative culinary talents with Vancouver’s own is no small feat. Months in the making, the 2016 program included five chefs from all corners of the world who stepped into their partner chefs’ Vancouver kitchen to cook up a storm during their Dine Out collaboration. We invited culinary all-stars from Sydney, New York, Copenhagen, Puerto Vallarta and Los Angeles.
We toured around the city with a few of them and shared Vancouver’s culinary highlights.
