The Proof: Vanessa Stark

Deep snow, peak line, first chair, heart pumping,
face lap, good landings, lift line, high fives…
Top to bottom, pow slash, face shot, white room,
flat cliffs, orange trees, cat track, bordercross, Dustys, more High fives and 5 more please!!!
That is one of my favorite days.

Good mountain air, good people, good vibes. I found home in Whistler 20 years ago last month. It has been awesome! (Although, I now live up the road in the beautiful valley of dogs, babies, bikes and potatoes.)

I can’t image my life anywhere else I’ve been drawing always. People ask-“when did you start?” Most of us start around two-I just never stopped.

Snowboarding, biking, yoga, cooking, eating, painting, camping, dancing, laughing, chasing the cats and the toddler… here I am living the dream! In the words of a great man –Life is good and simple.

…and Whistler is awesome!

 The Questions

What neigbourhood do you live in?
Gotta love the creekside! I lived in the Whistler creekside for over 10 years. I now live in the Pemberton creekside.

What do you do and where?
I primarily work with acrylic paint on canvas. I sell original paintings, greeting cards as well as art prints on paper and canvas. I spend my Sundays throughout the summer at the Whistler Farmers Market.

What are you working on?
Today I am working on the logo for the Four Kings bike race this summer. I also have a kids room series coming soon!

Where can we find your work?
My work can be found at vanessastarkart.com vanessastarkart/facebook and vanessastarkart/twitter. Art prints and cards are available at the Whistler museum as well as One Earth Collection in Pemberton. A variety of greeting cards are for sale at Showcase Marketplace in Whistler, Onatah coffee shop in Squamish and Mt Currie Coffee shop in Pemberton. I will also have some original work on the walls of the Mt Currie Coffee shop as the featured artist from June through August.
