The second edition of TASTE MTL takes over Montreal’s restaurants November 1 to 11

Food lovers rejoice, the best time of year is here! For the second year in a row, TASTE MTL, our very own version of Restaurant Week, presented by Les produits d’érable du Québec in association with the SAQ, will take center stage throughout Montreal. This most delicious event takes place from November 1 to 11, 2013, and is a great opportunity to indulge in a variety of gourmet activities happening around the city…

Restaurants: Over 125 restaurants city-wide will be participating in the TASTE MTL extravaganza by offering set 3-course menus of $19, $29 or $39 for dinner (before taxes and tip) and $19 for late-night menus (at participating restaurants). This is a great opportunity to go on a culinary discovery of some of Montreal’s best establishments at a reduced price. A new component of this year’s edition – and a challenge to all participating chefs – is to integrate a Quebec maple product to at least one of their dishes. Sweet!

Culinary tours: There is no doubt in mind that one of the best ways to taste Montreal is via one of the four culinary tours on hand during the TASTE MTL event. Led by the experienced guides of VDM Global Culinary Tours, these walks are designed along the lines of a wandering 5 à 7 (or happy hour). For a unique and complementary activity to your seated dinners, explore one (or several) of the four most delicious Montreal neighbourhoods: Old Montreal, the downtown core, Saint-Henri or the Mile End.

Workshops: This year’s workshops focus on vegan cuisine, its production, creation, innovation and philosophy. From the living cuisine of Crudessence, a Montreal leader in raw cooking, to the vegan cuisine of Invitation V and a stop at a certified organic grocery store, this workshop is a great opportunity to explore the best of Montreal’s vegan universe.

Events: Happy November- Several gourmet activities will be on hand at this year’s TASTE MTL event. Choose from a Master Class at ITHQ with 3 Michelin star chef Michelin Pierre Gagnaire, a Quebec cheese-centric workshops, talks and tasting sessions or several wine and bubbly events, some with over 200 winemakers, distillers, and brewers from around the world. Indulge in your food and wine passion from now through the month of December.

Street parties- Opera on Saint-Denis Street, an artistic light installation on Place Gérald-Godin and candle-lit suppers at six Mont-Royal Avenue restaurants are all a memorable part of TASTE MTL as well.
