This fall, the Casino de Montréal goes country!

“The Casino de Montréal is unique entertainment venue that’s open round the clock and contributes to the city’s thrilling cultural life,” says Gregory Charles, spokesperson for the Société des casinos du Québec. “The Casino has started introducing trendier activities and has become a hotspot for a night out with friends. Fall is always such an exciting time in Montréal and this time around, we’re kicking it off with a country theme.” From September 8 to October 21, grab your cowboy boots and hats and head down to the Casino to take part in a number of western-themed activities and special evenings. Yeehaw!

Step 1: Unleash your inner buckaroo

Every Thursdays and Fridays, ride a mechanical bull in the middle of a giant roulette (a Casino exclusive) and challenge your friends to beat your bronco bucking best. Open the bets: who can hang on the longest? Once you’ve tamed the beast, learn to scoot and swivel alongside professional line dancers as you go country dancing. Go courting Lady Luck and learn how to play at the roulette demo tables. You can even take a turn as the dealer and keep the wheel spinning.

Step 2: Mosey up to the bar

With this big hoedown going on, you must be parched as a possum! Quench your thirst with country-style cocktails from September 8 to October 23. Don’t miss the official kick-off with a demonstration by mixologist Jonathan Homier on September 9. Tuck into a delicious gourmet meal that includes the Tomahawk rib eye steak and spare ribs marinated in syrup and Jack Daniels. Yummy!

Step 3: Have a hog-killin’ time! (No hogs will be killed. Seriously.)

Belt out big American and Québecois country hits (by Dolly, Hank, Willie and more) during La fièvre du country show, which shines the spotlight on Guylaine Tremblay and 15 artists. Not to be missed at the Cabaret du Casino, on Thursday, September 1, every Friday and Saturday of September, Sunday, September 25 and Saturday, October 1. And it’s even better as a dinner theatre package!

The good times keep rolling with Bulles, Whisky et Cie, presented by Eventouch on September 22 and 23 at the Cabaret du Casino, where you can wet your whistle with excellent whiskeys, sparkling wines, spirits and cocktails. There will be more than 150 products and cocktails to discover at over 22 exhibitors and two DJs manning the tables. A mixology contest, organized by Pierre-Yves Lord and Boire Club, is also on the program and will be led by eight innovative mixologists (or, as we say back at the ranch, “booze clerks”). Cheers!

Step 4: Hit the jackpot
