There’s nothing quite as nice as enjoying the breeze on your cheeks as you ride through the streets of Vancouver… Which set of cheeks is up to you! This weekend, you may be seeing a whole lot of butt-cheeks if you’re in the Downtown core on Saturday, July 22. The World Naked Bike Ride is rolling through Vancouver this weekend with a crowd that’s stripped down to their skivvies in support of human-powered transportation, safe streets, and body positivity.

If you’ve got guts, the ride is open for anyone to join, with a dress code of as bare as you dare. Even if you’re more comfortable in just wearing a bathing suit, you’re free to join the festivities.

The Vancouver Naked Bike Ride is an annual affair that coincides with the world-wide event that typically happens in June. Vancouver joins the list of 70+ cities around the world that get naked to go for a ride. For 2017, the event in Vancouver has moved to July – likely to allow for a bike ride in better weather.

If you’re interested in joining the ride, the event will begin at noon on Saturday, July 22 at Sunset Beach in English Bay. There will be body painting and performances taking place before the actual naked bike ride begins. Then, at 2pm, everyone will ride out together for a fun flashmob with lots of flesh!

This mob is definitely a head-turner and can cause traffic delays around the city with cars stopped to watch the procession. If you’re thinking of driving through the city on Saturday afternoon, you may prefer to rethink plans and grab a Mobi bike or go for a nice bus ride.

Want to check this off your bucket list? There are a few tips for having a good time at the 2017 Vancouver Naked Bike Ride:

  • Prepare for riding rain or shine!
  • If it’s sunny, put on sunscreen!
  • You do not have to be naked to join the ride.
  • Wear shoes!
  • If you’re shy, we start the ride with some clothing on and then stop away from the crowds to get more bare!
  • Keep your clothes with you — you never know when you may need them (like… after the ride).
  • Decorate your bike! Come with signs and funky hats!
  • Cover your bike seat with fake fur!
  • Ride safely and stay together as a group.

The Vancouver Naked Bike Ride will happen on Saturday, July 22 at 2pm from English Bay. Pre-festivities will take place from 12pm – 2pm at Sunset Beach.
