The so-called “end of summer party” is happening on Sunday, August 31st at Victory Square Park (at Cambie and Hastings) in Downtown Vancouver featuring some of Vancouver’s most loved local talent.

Presented by Music Waste and CiTR 101.9 FM, the Victory Square Block Party has eight confirmed acts and 2 DJs to say goodbye to summer with this free, outdoor music festival.

The bands that will be performing include:

  • The Shilohs
  • Dead Soft
  • Supermoon
  • Nervous Talk
  • Purple Hearts Social Club
  • Fountain
  • Cool
  • Tough Age
  • Along with DJs Cherchez La Femme and Richard MacFarlane (of 1080p) keeping the energy up.

As with any decent event in the city, food trucks will also be coming out to keep your stomach happy. You can expect Community Pizzeria and more trucks to be announced.

Partial proceeds from the raffle and sponsorship go towards Megaphone Magazine, Vancouver’s street magazine sold by homeless and low income vendors as a source of income. Partial proceeds also go to support community based broadcaster CiTR 101.9FM.

The Victory Square Block Party 2014 takes place on Sunday, August 31st from 2pm to 9pm at Victory Square Park (Hastings Cambie) in Downtown Vancouver. The event is completely free, but come down and support local talent and the people behind the Megaphone Magazine.
