We Heart TWSSF Samples. Here’s the roundup!

Yeah, yeah, the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival is known for free concerts, amazing art shows, pros and wannabe pros around every corner and snowy spectacles of sport on the mountain. But every local knows one of the best things about TWSSF is the plethora of free samples that roll into town every spring.

The village will soon be bursting at the seams with free sponsor swag. Here’s a round-up on what you can expect to stock up on!

Monster Energy

Monster Energy is on tap as the sponsor of the 5-star TTR snowboarding event, The Shred Show. Depending on how hard you plan on going this festival, the vividly coloured Monster concoctions might be the only thing getting you through all ten-days of action on and off the mountain. I am told there will be samples of  new tea-based flavours as well which could be a marginally healthier option. At any rate, if energy is what you are looking for, Monster is going to ensure you are plugged in for all ten days of the TELUS World Ski Snowboard Festival.

BAJONG Bars

BAJONG Bars are a local product from North Vancouver entrepreneur Jennifer Bajus. This addition to the swag line-up is exciting since it actually appears to be good for you.  Made with wheat free and gluten free ingredients, the product prides itself on being low in sodium, a source of fiber and protein and created with clean and natural ingredients. There are three flavours; Chocolate Matcha Green Tea; Apricot, Blueberry Date; and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chew (the one I am most excited to try).

Diesel “Only The Brave” Fragrance

The eau de TELUS assaulting your senses this year is Diesel’s “Only The Brave.” This men’s fragrance is apparently designed for men who want to be heroes and the notes I found online about its scent have me thinking this may smell decent on women too since there are a lot of citrus and floral notes. Diesel is an associate sponsor for the WSI and the title sponsor for the Superhit competition on Sunday April 22.

 MuscleCare Extra Strength Roll-On

MuscleCare has come on board to soothe weary limbs and aching feet. The press release tells me that “with a cooling sensation that penetrates right through the painful muscle, ‘MuscleCare Extra Strength Roll-on’ is the strongest all natural, scientifically based, topical analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-spasmodic for over the counter sales.” Impressive! It starts to work in 30 seconds to this might be a good thing to keep on hand in case day turns to night turns to day again and you are still in your ski boots.

Milk 2 Go

Milk 2 Go will also be offering samples of their variety of flavoured milks, on the hour between 12pm and 5pm everyday of the Festival in Village Common. Don’t miss the vigorously bucking Milk 2 Go Mechanical Bull on either weekend as well. Just maybe save the strawberry milk as an apres bullriding refreshment, kthanks.

Coke

Get your ice-cold Coca-Cola, the most popular and biggest-selling soft drink in history, as well as the best-known product in the world from the Coke booth off Skier’s Plaza.

Jack Links Jerky

Get your meat snack on with Jack Links delicious jerky products. Roaming sampling will take place on both weekends.

Schick

Schick wants you to free your skin! Hopefully the weather will cooperate. They’ll be handing out eco-friendly herb sachets and coupons for their products.

Kijiji

Kijiji is Canada’s largest and most visited free classifieds website with over one million ads on it…and there is even one for Whistler! I hope these guys are coming…what I know for sure is Kijiji will be in the Conference Centre with a photo booth next to the fireplace and a button making station. Everyone loves buttons, but I love these guys more!

Everything else…

There are a ton of other activations to check out for fun games, contests and experiences so make sure to check out the Village Stroll with a Monster in hand! GM/Chevrolet will be handing out lanyards with the festival schedule on it and you can check out some of their swanky new rides; Microsoft will be showing off Windows 7 and running contests for amazing prizes like college tuition; Mountain FM will have beer cozys and t-shirts, Playstations Gaming Truck in the village will have the latest games on offer; Polar Piece will be showing off their products, Recco will be sharing avalanche awareness; Samsung will have an artist studio and Pictionary on the Galaxy Tablet on offer in the Conference Centre; Scandinave Spa will offer an oasis and place to kick up those weary feet as well as discount coupons; and TELUS will feature locations throughout the village where you can scan a bracelet to win Instant Prizes as well as to gain entry into a big draw at the end of the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival.
