What to Expect from the First Canadian Internet Marketing Conference

CIMC-event

On March 28 and 29 2015, Squamish will host the first Canadian Internet Marketing Conference (CIMC), a two-day series of speakers, workshops and networking events designed for business owners, marketers, social media managers and bloggers.

Here’s what you need to know about it.

1. The conference will be held at Quest University Canada which ranked among Canada’s top universities for innovation in a national student survey.

2. You don’t have to be a professional to attend. “This event is really about connection,” said Marwick Marketing CEO and conference co-founder Christian Thomson who, along with his partner Jelly Marketing‘s Darian Kovacs, created a dream-team of speakers and experts who will present throughout the weekend.

3. There will be 22 speakers in total, speaking on a wide range of topics including Blending Traditional PR and Digital Marketing, How to Grow Your Business Using Blogs, and Building a Brand with Passion. Confirmed speakers include Google’s Head of Large Advertiser and Agency Marketing Fabricio Dolan, Strategy magazine editor Emily Wexler, Invoke Media’s Head of Client Engagement Jordan Eshpeter, HootSuite’s Kemp Edmonds and Rethink’s Leah Gregg.

4. The conference will also include a Dragon’s Den style contest that will award $10,000 to the winning agency as well as the Canadian Internet Marketing Awards. Awards are up for grabs across several categories including Best Website Design, Best Use of Social Media and Best Digital Marketing Consultant. Nominations are currently open until December 31 at www.internetmarketingawards.ca.

5. Early bird tickets are on sale now for $399 which include two-day admission as well as breakfast, lunch and coffee on both days.
