Where to find Vancouver’s best indie designers

Nifty Fifty is an annual event in its sixth year that packs several punches of good news to fashion loving folk – so be sure that you’re sitting down. The first is that it brings together some of Vancouver’s most beloved indie designers into one shared space for an afternoon on Sunday, April 14. The second is that they’ll all be selling their wares, which range from clothing to accessories, for $50 and under.

To anyone who know their local Vancouver labels, the list of those taking part is an impressive one. (And for those who don’t, this is a great place to come get familiar.) While the products vary greatly, all the vendors have one thing in common – their designs are made with blood, sweat and tears. Some of the vendors include Adhesif Clothing, which redesigns recycled fabrics into unique, one-of-a-kind creations, Bueno Style, which reworks vintage jewelry, and Allison Wonderland, a long-time Vancouver design staple.

Other participants include Carnal Design, Carny Love, Daub Design, Elroy Apparel, Floating Gold Iceberg, Irit Sorokin Designs, Kdon, Meiku Designs, Bronsino and Toodlebunny.

This is a cash only event so be sure to come prepared. It takes place at Heritage Hall, located at 3102 Main Street, between 11a.m. and 8 p.m. Admission is a whopping $1.
