We’re #2! We’re #2! In a new ranking released last week, it was revealed that Canada was ranked No. 2 in the U.S. News “Overall Best Countries Ranking” list. Canada was narrowly beaten by Germany but remains higher than the United Kingdom, the United States, and Sweden.
The rankings were based on a variety of categories including: Adventure, Citizenship, Heritage, Power, and Entrepreneurship. Notably, Canada ranked #1 under Quality of Life, due to a good job market, safety, and a well-developed public education system.
Additionally, Canada ranked high in additional categories, including:
- Best Countries to Headquarter a Corporation (#1!)
- Best Countries for a Comfortable Retirement (#3)
- Best Countries for Education (#2)
- Most Transparent Countries (#2)
- Best Countries for Women (#3)
So, if you’re thinking about starting up a headquarter for a new corporation, better get over to Canada!
The full list of the best countries in the world is included on the US News website, but the top 10 includes:
- United Kingdom
- United States
Whether you agree with the rankings or not, you can’t deny the fact that Canada is one of the best places in the world. Especially on those sunny days in Vancouver! We’ve also had our fair share of high rankings this past year, including: being the 3rd most livable city in the world and having one of the best airports in the world.
Sadly, Canada only got a score of 0.2 in the “sexy” ranking. But, we did get a 9.2 rating under the “friendly” ranking, so hopefully you can still love us for our personality.
