In-Shuck-ch First Nationsl Festival

In-SHUCK-ch Days is a celebration designed to enhance identity and pride within our communities while promoting our key traditions and values. This annual event brings together families, friends, youth and neighbours from the surrounding communities to showcase In-SHUCK-ch culture and recognize the significant accomplishments of our people.

In-SHUCK-ch Days is on the weekend of August 18 and 19. The festival is free of cost, open to everyone, and will provide meals.

There are going to be lots of cultural activities, workshops and demonstrations such as drumming, dancing, xúsum ice cream making, cedar bark weaving, traditional food sampling and many more. There will even be activities for younger children, too, in the Kids Zone (*please note: the Kids Zone provides activities for children, but it is not a daycare service).

There is also going to be a Career Education Fair, information booths, and local vendors/artisans.

On Saturday we have scheduled the Dancers Introduction and Recognition Ceremony, and Community Awards. The awards will recognize nominated community members for their accomplishments and dedication.

We will also have performers. Saturday night after dinner: Kalan Wi. Sunday entertainment: Archie Peters and the Wide Open Range and the New Drum and Rattle Ceremony before our closing.
