The Queer of the Year Contest Finalists landed in Montreal and they got to take it easy for one night in their luxury digs over at Hotel Le Germain. The next morning however was straight into the challenges! First order of business: The Literal Catwalk. It’s a high-fashion catwalk featuring the best of Montreal designers. With cats. Literally. Check out the video above and some behind the scenes photos…

The Finalists started their day with a photo shoot for the voting booth. They got to get glammed up, and werq it for the camera.

In case we forgot, the Queer of the Year contest finalists are Shane from Australia, Topher from Toronto, Ivette from Brooklyn, Peter from Manhattan, and Caleb from Connecticut! Your behinds are looking mighty fine you guys.

Then they were on to the first challenge! The Literal Catwalk. They got to put on some super fierce Montreal designers, get full hair and make up, and then strut down the runway with kittens.

Topher poses with a pussy cat and gives it a wee kiss as Queer of the Year host Mikala Bierma is distracted by a cat. This happens quite often apparently.

Ivette is looking cute as a doll. Love her style! She wasn’t phased by the cats at all, but I think she might have some previous experience in handling kitty. Maybe she majored in it during College? Rock that pink bow girl!

After a long day of shooting, it was a wrap after one last feline fierce pose. What could be in store for these finalists next? A race up Mont-Royal? A pop quiz on the political climate of Quebec? Here’s a small teaser…

A musician! On a piano! Is the a script we see in her hands? I can tell you this challenge is diva-crazy and really funny. Check out the Queer of the Year Facebook page to vote!
