What are you doing on New Year’s Eve? It’s usually the second question one gets asked at holiday parties, right after “How you doin’?”

If you’re more interested in fine dining than party hopping when it comes to ringing in 2013, Vancouver’s best restaurants are plating and pouring some darn fine New Year’s Eve refreshments.

Here are ten of Vancouver’s best options for a festive New Year’s Eve dinner. Find enticing menu snapshots after the jump!

Top 10 New Year’s Eve Restaurant Events

1. Black + Blue, $95 per head
The steak specialists present a beefy, four-course gala menu that begins with seared Snake River Farms wagyu with quail egg, crescendos with broiled blue ribbon tenderloin in foie gras bordelaise sauce and finishes sweetly with hazelnut opera cake. (604-637-0777, Glowbalgroup.com/blackblue)

2. C Restaurant, $87 per head
Chef Humphries will showcase the best seasonal foods from local waters with a five-course menu including fresh-shucked kusshi oysters with champagne gellée, sunny side quail egg with hot smoked sturgeon and B.C.’s Northern Divine caviar, and pan seared sablefish with clams, side stripe shrimp and saffron bouillabaisse. 3. Campagnolo, $45 per head.
I hear Italians celebrate New Year’s Eve by wearing red underwear. Although Chef Adam Vaughan and Bar Director Giovanni Giardino won’t disclose the colour of their undies, they are planning a colourful Italian feast based on seasonal fare, priced at $45 per person for groups of 4 or more. Guests can expect a variety of dishes like crispy ceci, vitello tonnato, the Cure’s housemade salumi, secondi including fish, beef and Sloping Hill pork plus mascarpone cheesecake. 4. Campagnolo Roma, $39 per head
Do as the Romans do and feast on four courses including antipasti, pasta, pizza and dolci served alla famiglia. The team at Roma has been eagerly preparing quince since the end of November in order to feature a Quince Bellini ($9) for New Year’s Eve, made with their housemade quince syrup and prosecco.(604.569.0456, Campagnoloroma.com)

7.  Maenam, $57.50 per head
Vancouver’s New York Times recognized Thai resto is serving a four-course, family-style feast including delights such as chicken and lobster in golden egg nets, sweet pork cheek salad, and stir-fried baby back ribs with wild green ginger.
