YVR Celebrates Summer with 3rd Annual “Take-Off Fridays”

A summer staycation has never had so many options. Visit Vancouver International Airport (YVR) any Friday from July 6th to August 31st for Take-Off Fridays and
enjoy delicious treats, rockin’ beats and fun for the whole family.

Whether you’re looking for an entertaining new family activity, or simply want to soak up the summer spirit with friends, YVR has something for everyone. Plan to visit any Friday this summer from 9:00am to 3:00pm for a full day of free samples, great music, and exciting prizes. Check out live DJs and tons of free entertainment in the Domestic and International Terminals, where kids will have a blast meeting YVR mascots, dancing to music, getting their faces painted, and more. The addition of activities in the USA departures area – a new feature of this year’s Take-Off Fridays – means there’s even more to see and do.

The festivities continue in YVR’s Public Observation Area, where kids and adults alike can
explore interactive displays, quizzes and videos for a behind-the-scenes look at Canada’s
second busiest airport. Check out one of the many high-tech telescopes, discover Sea Island through an interactive model and learn all sorts of interesting facts about YVR, the
history of flight in B.C. and all things aviation-related.

Take advantage of a special Take-Off Fridays parking rate of $5 for up to four hours in any
of YVR’s lots – parking at the airport has never been easier. Or, begin your family adventure on the Canada Line and get to the airport in 26 minutes or less.
